- What languages do you translate?
- We translate the combination languages of English – French
– German – Spanish. We will be adding languages every
month into our combination.
Why do you only work for translation agencies?
- We feel that by only working for translation agencies we can
provide them with an exclusive relationship. We understand their
needs and are able to ensure that they are met. By working for
agencies we can help create a great workflow for them by streamlining
projects, and by managing the aspects associated with the coordination
of a project. This way both our needs are met.
Do you accept work from end clients? (Non-agencies)
- No, we strictly work for translation agencies. If an end client
approached us we would point him or her in the direction of an
agency we feel will best fit their needs.
What qualifications do your translators have?
- All of our translators go through a vigorous entrance procedure.
We also have a constant quality control program that all our translators
and editors participate in.
Can I have the translator’s resume?
- We at Primatus hold ourselves as the reference for our translators.
We do not give out our translator's information. If you have any
questions regarding references or experience we will be more than
happy to comply.
Do your translators use any type of automatic translation software?
- No, all of our translations are human translated.
Do your translators use any type of memory translation software?
- Yes, some of our translators use software such as Trados. If
this is a requirement for your project we will assign it to one
of our translators that works with such software.
Do you certify translations?
- Yes, please let your project manager know that you would like
the job certified and we will make sure to accommodate this.
Are your translators certified?
- There are some agencies that will offer certification to translators
who pass their agency examination and pay a fee. Although the
majority of Primatus translators are certified by different agencies
in the United States or abroad, we do not require it because there
is little relationship between passing these exams and writing
style or quality.
How do you manage to maintain competitive rates?
- A worldwide network of resources, combined with today's technology,
allows us to offer highly competitive rates without compromising
quality or deadlines.
Do you offer any discounts?
- We establish a relationship with our clients, by increasing
the amount of projects sent our way we can establish a constant
volume rate for you.
Why does the amount of words on my invoice not match the amount
of the original document?
- Languages vary in amounts of words; the Saxon languages have
less than the Romance languages. We invoice based on target word
count.
Why don't you charge by source word?
- If we were to go by source word, we would have to count every
source document that came in by hand. Doing this would incur an
added cost that would be absorbed in our rates. Target words are
electronically counted, saving time.
How can you deliver the translated work?
- We try to deliver it in the form our client requests. We primary
use the Internet or CD-ROM.
Do you offer express delivery?
- If the project is of extreme urgency, speak to your project
manager who will let you know whether it is possible, it will
depend on the type and volume of the document.
